Introducing our Indoor + Outdoor Cam and Upgraded Protect Plans
Hi all! Dhruv here, Kangaroo’s Cofounder and CEO. By now you might have heard we’ve been working hard on a brand new security camera. It’s always been the goal at Kangaroo to deliver accessible, customizable home security technology with affordable pricing and DIY setup. I am incredibly excited to share news about our new Indoor + Outdoor Cam, which I’m proud to say fits the bill on what we try to create at Kangaroo every day. Plus, we have updates to our premium protection plans, which allow us as a company to go beyond typical home security and ensure coverage for when incidents do occur. I hope that you’ll agree Kangaroo’s unwavering commitment to making security affordable, simple, and truly secure has never been more evident than it is with these announcements. Meet The Indoor + Outdoor Cam
We’ve heard you, and so please meet our new compact, and feature-packed security camera that keeps you covered inside or out. Let’s start with some basics: 1080p Resolution, Color Night Vision, Built-in Siren, Live and Recorded Video, Cloud Storage and Local Storage-enabled, + Smart Home integration-ready. That’s all unlocked out-of-the-box. And with our $1.99/month Cam Protect plan added to the device comes Person Detection, Sound Detection, Two-way Audio, Time Lapse Recordings (via local storage), full length videos, extended 30-day Cloud Storage and of course, coverage. $250 per year, to be exact, for theft or damage that occurs in range of the camera. The new Indoor + Outdoor Cam is weatherproof, wired, and WiFi-enabled.

Now want to hear some good news? You can be one of the first Kangaroo users to get your hands on the Indoor + Outdoor Cam by purchasing your camera on pre-sale on our website starting 9/21. Don’t miss out though, we have limited quantities. After pre-sale, the Indoor + Outdoor Cam will officially be available on the Kangaroo website October 12. You can also find it at Walmart this October and Amazon shortly thereafter.
New Plan Names, Same Focus on Incident Coverage and Reimbursement
At Kangaroo, we want your home security to be true and total home security. That’s why we’ve always gone beyond detection and intervention features to include incident coverage in our plans - something the other guys don’t provide. Here’s the good news - no price changes. Our Cam Protect plan (formerly known as Porch Protection Plan) can now be added to any camera product for just $1.99/month ($23.88/year). With Cam Protect, you’ll make your Indoor + Outdoor Cam smarter and add $250 per year of coverage for each Cam Protect plan you have. That same coverage, of course, will be included on our Doorbell Camera + Chime, and future camera products. If you’re currently a Porch Protection Plan customer, we’ll move you over to Cam Protect in the coming months, mostly likely as your plan renews.
Our Complete Protect plan replaces Kangaroo Complete, and will continue to include $1000 of coverage and support up to 3 cameras and other Kangaroo products like the Motion + Entry Sensor, Siren + Keypad, and more. In both cases, no action is required for existing customers and we’ll share more information on when and how you’ll transition from one plan to the next soon.
We believe that you’ll be thrilled with our new Indoor + Outdoor Camera. We’ve been actively testing the device and can’t wait to get it into your hands. We’re not stopping here as this is just the first of many exciting announcements to come as we continue our mission to put security within everyone’s reach.
